About Torso

The human torso is powerful in many ways, and particularly so within Andrew Lacey's art. His subjects always appear to be gently under torsion – that is, the action of twisting or the state of being twisted, especially of one end of an object relative to the other: the suggestion of imminent movement.

Torso is one of Lacey's most recent explorations of the human form; sketched, then created in clay, and finally cast in bronze on a very large scale.

After a smaller maquette was created in wax, a large-scale bronze was made to commission.

Two scales are now available in bronze; the maquette edition (featured below), or the very large-scale 'welcome' sculpture edition (featured above and below). Please enquire via the form below for further details.

Rarely do we have the opportunity to play a part in creating an interpretive piece of art that becomes a legacy.
