Andrew Lacey was based at Columbia University, New York City during March 2015 as a visiting expert maker to work with students in the Making and Knowing Laboratory.
This is within the context of a 'Research and Pedagogical Initiative to produce a digital critical edition and English translation of a remarkable sixteenth-century French manuscript. The manuscript contains a huge variety of recipes and instructions for technical procedures, especially casting, moldmaking and metalworking experiments. These recipes will form the basis for the work of PhD students and visiting expert makers in the new Making and Knowing Laboratory at Columbia University.'
